Program Manager – Data Products & Governance

The transition from IT-led to business-led data products, and the development and delivery of new data products, requires a structured approach and dedicated guidance from a Program Manager.
Responsibilities:
• Develop a clear vision (including the "why" narrative) for the data products within their program, in close collaboration with business experts and product owners.
• Manage scope, budget, and timelines.
• Define and align governance frameworks (including terms of reference and governance-related processes).
• Lead and manage the steering committee for the program.
• Set up new data products in a structured manner (e.g., scoping, monitoring progress), in coordination with both business and IT stakeholders.
• Support the establishment of data product teams.
• Plan and coordinate initiatives to improve data competencies.
• Coach the data product owner, data domain owner, and data steward.
• Act as the single point of contact for business and IT regarding the implementation of the data program, and provide feedback to ensure consistent implementation of the data model.
• Establish and facilitate communities of practice for Data Stewards, Data Owners, etc., and ensure structured feedback from these roles and the data products to management.
• Manage transversal data quality initiatives within the program and, if necessary, lead one or more of these initiatives.
Profile
• Proven and extensive experience (minimum 6 years) in data management, governance, architecture, modeling, and especially data mesh principles.
• Demonstrated experience as a Program Manager, particularly in managing data-related programs and setting up governance and steering structures.
• Experience in launching and supporting the introduction of data products or initiatives aimed at improving data quality and data sharing across internal users and external publications.
• Fluency in French, Dutch, and English, both spoken and written, is essential (German is a plus).
• Strong communication skills, able to engage effectively with both technical data profiles and senior management.
• Persuasive with a diplomatic approach.
• Analytical, adaptable, and possesses excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Master’s degree, preferably in (business) engineering or IT.
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively, and to develop creative solutions.
