Business Analyst Mortgage

Our client, a leading international financial institution, is currently seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join their team and contribute to strategic initiatives within the housing and mortgage lending domain.
Responsibilities:
- Act as an ambassador of the Business Analysis methodology within one or more cross-functional project teams in the "Housing" business value stream.
- Responsible for analyzing and challenging business requirements and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Key challenge: Replatforming project for Loans.
- Translate business requirements into deliverables for project teams, (software) vendors, or outsourcers.
- Monitor implementation projects through the client's collaboration model and validate whether the delivered solutions meet the business requirements.
- Look beyond the initial question to identify opportunities for making the organization more efficient and data-driven.
- Proactively engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather and share information.
- Create insight and transparency into your work and its status and share this within the project team.
Profile
- Analytical thinking while maintaining a view of the big picture.
- Proactive with the coordination skills required to gather business requirements from multiple stakeholders and communicate these with IT.
- Experience as a business analyst and/or process engineer in the banking and insurance sector.
- Solid business knowledge of (mortgage) loans. Able to raise potential issues with management early to avoid future problems.
- Communicates clearly, openly, and listens well.
- Adapts working methods and communication depending on the situation.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the banking and insurance sector and at least 5 years of experience with project-based work and stakeholder management.
- Proficient in both Dutch and English (business fluent).
- Affinity with working in an Agile way-of-working.
Expected Knowledge Areas
The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in the following areas:
- Mortgage Loan Products & Services
Understanding of mortgage types (fixed/variable, redraw, bridge loans), loan securities (mandates, reuse, frameworks), and related costs (notary, appraisal, insurance).
- Credit Acceptance & Underwriting
Experience with the full loan origination flow (simulation to disbursement), decision criteria (LTV, DSTI, credit scoring), and both automated and manual credit assessments.
- Regulatory & Compliance
Knowledge of MCD, ESIS, CKP/Becris reporting, and ESG aspects such as energy performance in credit evaluation.
- IT & Replatforming Processes
Skilled in BPMN, system integrations (e.g., CKP, appraisers, digital ID), and effective stakeholder collaboration across business and IT.
- Strategic & Digital Transformation
Insight into replatforming drivers (legacy limitations, STP goals) and impact (faster delivery, better data quality, lower costs, improved customer experience).
