Payment Business Consultant

We are looking for a Business Consultant to join our Payment team.
Your role will be to support our clients in the financial services sector in the analysis and design of key initiatives in the payments domain. You will work with leading banks, payment institutions, and fintechs to shape and deliver complex payment transformation projects, drive regulatory compliance, and help clients innovate in an evolving digital payments landscape.
Your main responsibilities will include:
• Lead or support business analysis for payment-related initiatives
(SEPA, SWIFT, instant payments, ISO 20022, PSD2/PSR, etc.)
• Assess and improve payment processes
• Gather, document, and validate business requirements, and translate them into functional specifications
• Act as liaison between business and IT teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Support implementation of payment platforms and systems
(e.g., T2/T2S, TIPS, RTGS, card schemes, PSP integrations)
• Stay up to date with regulatory and market changes impacting the payments ecosystem
• Contribute to internal knowledge building and offer development around payments
Profile
• Master’s degree or equivalent experience
• 3 to 5 years of experience in consulting or project in the payments domain
• Strong knowledge of European and global payment systems and instruments (SEPA CT/DD, SCT Inst, SWIFT MT/MX, cards, wallets, etc.)
• Familiar with payment system operations, scheme rules, and related compliance frameworks
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and documentation skills
• Experience with ISO 20022 migration or instant payments implementation
• Understanding of payment service provider (PSP) integration, e-commerce acquiring or open banking APIs
• Knowledge of payment core platforms
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
• Fluent in English and French or Dutch, with a good understanding of the other language
